Plus James Wood on the art of noticing, Patrick Shanley on discomfort, Lynn Levin on going to the Playboy Club with her father, Jonathan Starke on moving to Oregon, Jeff Meyers on Yukio Mishima.   Fiction from Shimon Tanaka; poetry from Adonis, Jeff Hoffman, and  Karen Holden; a review by Sarah Mesle of Patti Smith’s new memoir, which won the National Book Award.
